Thanks to their studies at the hotel management school in Passugg, SSTH graduates are employed in the hotel and gastronomy industries worldwide. To keep the
contact with the alumni and in order to build a strong international SSTH community, the Alumni Chapter UAE was recently founded in Dubai.

Alumni carry the spirit of SSTH with them around the world
Swiss School of Tourism and Hospitality (SSTH) Passugg graduates operate in the hospitality industry around the globe. After their training they take central Swiss values such as quality,
care and kindness along with them into the world and become leaders in the industry through their professionalism. The SSTH alumni network currently extends across six continents: from Africa to Asia, from Europe to the Americas.

Alumni Chapter – a Network for graduates
While attending the Gulf Education & Training Exhibition (GETEX) in Dubai, the leading education and training fair in the Gulf region, SSTH director Knut G. Rupprecht and Alumni Director Maria
Ramstad Kristiansen used the opportunity to found the SSTH Alumni Chapter UAE on April 13th, 2015.
In a large expat community, more than 50 qualified professionals from Passugg live and work in the United Arab Emirates, most of whom have remained in the hospitality industry. Thanks to their
in-depth training, as well as the hotel boom in the country, they all have exciting career prospects – with more than 100 new hotels to open in Dubai by 2020. The president of the newly
founded SSTH Alumni Chapter, Jitendra Jain, is one example of an alumnus with an exceptional career. As a SSTH graduate, now working as Regional Director of Marketing, Middle-East, for
Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc., he wants to bring the members of the chapter in Dubai together and open up new possibilities for both graduates and current students. Through regular
meetings and events, an exchange on current developments and new perspectives in the industry can take place. The first networking event was organised by Jitendra and chapter committee members Joynal Abedin (Learning and Development Manager at St. Regis, Abu Dhabi) and Kishan Chandnani (Marketing Manager, Food & Beverage, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide Inc.).
